About the Author

 

Shanley Mahsay is a retired teacher, wife, and mother who lives in the peaceful open spaces of upstate New York with her husband and two rescued dogs, Tick and Chip. Her first middle-grade book, Colby: Adventures of a Rescued Puppy, earned praise from readers. Because of its popularity, she wrote two more books in the series: Colby: Adventures with Cousin Buddy and Colby: Adventures at Home.

 

Ms. Mahsay's stories draw from her years teaching middle-grade students and growing up in a dog-loving family with many adopted and rescued pets. The Colby Adventure series was inspired by one special family dog who stood out from all the others, making her stories relatable to anyone who has ever loved a pet.

 

Her Miller's Woods series targets middle-grade readers who enjoy mysteries with engaging pacing, suspense, and surprising twists.
